With a passion for connection and innovation, Amanda Jenkins has spent her career empowering organizations and communities to thrive in an evolving digital landscape. As the Director of Remote Work at Golden Shovel Agency, she leads talent acquisition, remote work strategy and team engagement initiatives while also managing GateKeeper clients, ensuring seamless communication and website management for economic development professionals nationwide.

Amanda's career began in public service as an Economic Developer, Mayor, and City Councilmember in rural Northern California, where she spearheaded initiatives to drive economic growth and community engagement. She founded the Active 20-30 Club of Red Bluff, recognizing the need to involve young professionals in local leadership, and served on multiple advisory boards, including the Chamber of Commerce, Continuum of Care, Solid Waste Management Agency, and Employer’s Advisory Council.

Beyond her leadership in economic development, Amanda has a deep-rooted commitment to storytelling and community brand building. She previously co-hosted the ShovelTalk Podcast, amplifying industry insights, and co-created 2 Mandis on a Mission, a “dirty jobs”-style video series highlighting local businesses and events. She has also led projects and initiatives like the California Chamber Ambassador Rally, advised on the revitalization of Red Bluff’s city park, and co-chaired the rebrand and relaunch of the Red Bluff Brew Battle, transforming it from a struggling local event into a thriving microbrew festival.

A global explorer at heart, Amanda has traveled to or lived in 25+ countries as a digital nomad and has volunteered for causes such as turtle conservation in Costa Rica, hurricane disaster relief in Florida and co-led fire relief efforts after the Camp Fire in Paradise, CA. When she’s not shaping the future of remote work and economic development, she spends time with her family and her GSD mix, Gemma, at the local dog park and beach. She loves exploring community events and museums and indulges her nomadic spirit with day or weekend outings as much as possible.

Amanda's dedication has earned her multiple honors, including the Spirit of Red Bluff Award and Chamber Ambassador of the Year, receiving recognition from the California Assembly, Senate, and Congress for her leadership and service.

Amanda earned her Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from American InterContinental University, graduating Cum Laude in 2007.
