Marketing Coordinator
Golden Shovel Agency is looking for a part-time Marketing Coordinator to manage marketing campaigns that support both our agency and our economic development clients. From quarterly thought leadership initiatives to newsletters and webinars, this role ensures campaigns run smoothly and generate real results. You’ll be at the center of internal and client-facing marketing—planning, executing, and optimizing strategies that inform, engage, and inspire.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead quarterly thought leadership campaigns, including topic planning, research (e.g., surveys), and whitepaper development
- Build landing pages and create compelling content in HubSpot
- Develop and execute email marketing campaigns through HubSpot
- Schedule podcast guests for ShovelTalk and campaign alignment
- Plan and coordinate promotional webinars and supporting materials
- Promote campaigns internally to drive team participation
- Create and distribute bi-monthly newsletters with company, client and industry news and content
- Coordinate external speaking engagements and podcast appearances
- Monitor website activity and recommend improvements for engagement
- Collaborate with partners on joint marketing efforts
- Develop case studies showcasing client success stories
- Contribute to Association Communications Committees as requested
- Coordinate award submissions for clients
- Stay current on marketing trends and AI tools
- Create and schedule content for social media, including creating graphics and short social videos on Canva
- Provide general marketing support for both Golden Shovel and clients
- Plan and implement paid advertising campaigns for Golden Shovel and its clients, including strategy development, platform selection (e.g., Google, Meta, LinkedIn), audience targeting, ad creation, budget management, performance monitoring, and reporting.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Proficiency in HubSpot (required)
- Experience using Canva (required)

Public Relations Coordinator
Golden Shovel Agency is seeking a part-time Public Relations Coordinator to help elevate our brand—and our clients’—through storytelling, media outreach, and visibility strategies. From securing speaking engagements and media converge to deepening partnerships, you’ll play a key role in our communication efforts. This role supports both internal marketing and client-focused campaigns across the country.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pitch Golden Shovel and our clients to media outlets and industry partners, taking a customized approach
- Secure media coverage, award recognition, and speaking opportunities for Golden Shovel
- Create materials to promote Golden Shovel as an industry leader and speaker to book more speaking engagements
- Promote Golden Shovel and client award wins on social media
- Lead PR campaigns for clients, including strategy and execution
- Contribute social media content that highlights PR activities, client wins, and campaign milestones
- Identify and coordinate speaking opportunities with MAEDC, NREDA, and other partners
- Create promotional pieces highlighting client successes
- Support relationship-building and communication efforts with partners
Qualifications/Skills:
- Proven experience in securing PR opportunities, including booking speaking engagements, webinars, and media placements (required)

Business Development Representative
Golden Shovel Agency is the national leader in digital communications for economic development organizations. Our cutting-edge technology and marketing strategies help economic development teams promote their community and gain the ongoing attention of businesses, site selectors and emerging workforces. Our team is passionate about the success of our client , and we have an all-time client retention rate of 95% (over 14 years).
The Business Development Representative will be responsible for making calls to prospective clients and setting up appointments/meetings for our sales leadership team. This person will be responsible for logging weekly activity (calls, meetings, proposals, leads, etc.) into a robust CRM (Customer Relationship Management). The ideal candidate will be someone who has a positive attitude, embraces introductory conversations, is a self-starter, and is detail oriented.

Responsibilities:
- Make outgoing calls from a combination of warm and cold leads
- Set meetings and appointments for our sales leadership team
- Attend all initial meetings and select follow-up meetings with your prospects
- Understand the customer's needs and offer Golden Shovel solutions.
- Tailor content of sales approach by studying client needs and providing a custom solution.
- Keep management informed and can accurately assess where sales prospects are in the sales pipeline.
- Monitor competition by gathering marketplace information and comparing industry solutions.

- Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing sales goals and communicating with the team.
