Elevating Communities Through Strategic Storytelling

Nathan Hansen serves as the Public Relations Coordinator at Golden Shovel Agency, where he focuses on securing earned media opportunities and speaking engagements for the agency and its clients. With more than 18 years of experience covering economic development activities as a community newspaper editor, Nathan brings a deep understanding of how to position communities for greater visibility and impact.

Nathan's background spans journalism, strategic communications and nonprofit leadership. He has developed and executed communications strategies for a variety of organizations and public relations clients and has successfully created content for social media, thought leadership and earned media campaigns.

Nathan has a strong record of community involvement. He is a charter member and past president of the Rotary Club of Farmington, MN and public relations chair for Ramble Jam, the club's country music festival fundraiser that attracted thousands to Farmington and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local causes. His leadership roles also include board positions with the Rosemount Area Arts Council, The Partnership Plan education foundation and Marine Village School’s PTO. These efforts reflect his long-standing commitment to building stronger, more vibrant communities.

Nathan holds an Executive Leadership Certificate from the Public Relations Society of America and has been recognized with a MarCom Award for best internal communications newsletter.

Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his two kids, biking, skiing and reminiscing about his junior year of high school spent studying abroad in Sweden.
