Driving Strategic Marketing and Economic Growth for Communities
As a Project Manager on Golden Shovel Agency’s Strategy team, Deanna Morrow oversees place marketing strategies, marketing campaigns, and video projects that support economic development organizations across the United States. With 14 years of experience in the economic development industry, she brings expertise in research, business attraction, foreign direct investment, brownfields, federal grant management, and economic development technology. Her background includes strategic planning and program management for the Montana World Trade Center, Wavteq, the Greater Houston Partnership, and Entergy, where her research and analysis directed utility expansion.
One of Deanna’s standout projects was leading the Montana Foreign Direct Investment Strategy, a two-year project funded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration (EDA), aimed at attracting international businesses to Montana. This comprehensive campaign included email marketing, digital advertising, marketing collateral creation, prospect meetings, stakeholder presentations, and trade show coordination.
Deanna holds a B.A. in international studies and communications from the University of St. Thomas (Houston). Since graduating, she has received an Economic Development Certification from Lightcast and a Professional Community & Economic Developer certification from the Community Development Institute. She also holds a variety of digital marketing certifications from HubSpot, Google Ads, and Meta. When she's not managing projects for Golden Shovel, she works with her local economic development organization and enjoys gardening, hiking, cycling, and exploring the Rocky Mountain West with her family.
