Golden Shovel is leading the economic development industry by deploying innovative communication strategies for communities and bringing regional partnerships together. One key player in any regional economic development effort is the utility companies and cooperatives.

Great River Energy, Powder River Energy, Arkansas Electric, Guadalupe Valley and Black Hills Energy are some of the utility clients who have leveraged the communication strategies developed and deployed by Golden Shovel Agency.

In 2017, Powder River Energy wanted to leverage their regional presence and centralize key information for all their stakeholders. This objective was part of the Member Community Engagement and Sustainable Growth plan.

In Minnesota, Great River Energy has been focusing on data center sites for their member communities. To attract these specific industry leaders, Great River Energy and Golden Shovel Agency launched a microsite focusing on data centers.

In 2014, Great River Energy launched a data center site assessment and tiered designation program with the goal of identifying the most suitable real estate sites for data center development. And, in January of 2018, Great River Energy will release an innovative virtual reality video to help site selectors and new businesses experience the suitable sites first hand.

“Golden Shovel Agency has a powerful suite of utility communication strategies,” said Golden Shovel Agency CEO Aaron Brossoit. “Our virtual reality utility tours, industry-specific microsites and community profile tools give utilities a marketing advantage.”

Golden Shovel Agency will be attending the NET2018 Conference to learn more about utility communication goals and to share innovative strategies.
