Meet the Crew
Audrey Anderson, Director of Marketing & Communications, has been with Golden Shovel Agency since January 2020. She has grown from the Marketing & Communication Assistant to the Direct of Marketing. Prior to Golden Shovel, Audrey worked in marketing for industries ranging from universities to nonprofits. She has a Bachelor’s Degrees in Communication Studies, with an emphasis in Event Planning, and Public Relations from Minnesota State University Moorhead. In addition, Audrey has certifications in The Fundamentals of Digital Marketing (Google), Email Marketing Certified (HubSpot), HubSpot Marketing Software, Google Ads Search Certification, and Inbound Marketing Certified (HubSpot).
Her day-to-day responsibilities include managing the company’s social media channels, sending the bi-weekly newsletter “Economic Developer’s EDGE,” writing press releases, managing digital ads, and publishing company content in line with a marketing strategy. Her favorite project has been creating the social media eBook that teaches economic development organizations how to completely set up and optimize their social profiles.
Audrey’s favorite thing about working with economic developers is seeing all the creative ways business can be done. From a marketing perspective, it’s interesting for Audrey to see how economic developers grab the attention of site selectors, local businesses, and residents (current or future) and how conversations are started through social media, videos, and the website.
Audrey currently lives in Northern MN (Detroit Lakes) with her husband, black lab, and kitten. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time at the lake, the occasional Netflix binge, and crafting (most recently woodworking projects).
