MOUNT PLEASANT, IA, August 01, 2013 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Mount Pleasant Area Development Commission in partnership with Golden Shovel Agency is proud to announce the launch of an interactive economic development website designed to highlight the economic benefits of doing business in the region.

Mount Pleasant and Henry County, located less than six hours from every major Midwestern market along two major highways, is a national leader for cost of business thanks to low utility, tax and labor costs. The area has a strong presence in manufacturing and distribution, food processing and agriculture and an available workforce of over 166,000, with 30,000 looking for work now.

In order to find these resources, site selectors and expanding businesses will be able to utilize the new economic development website created and designed by Golden Shovel Agency. The website offers well-built and interactive functionality. Some of its features include a community profiles module; a GIS site selection tool that allows businesses to explore zoning, utilities, the size and price of available real estate; a list of available incentives and business resources; and local contacts.

"The Mount Pleasant Area Development Commission recognizes that a top-of-the-line website is the first priority for successful business attraction", said Kiley Miller, the commission's Executive Vice President. "Thanks to the tremendous work of Golden Shovel and the financial support of our sponsors, Alliant Energy, Farmers & Merchants Mutual Telephone Company, and Iowa Network Services, we now have a website that fully demonstrates the great advantages of doing business in Henry County."
