A new Web site has been launched to promote and foster Otoe County's economic development.
Nebraska City Area Economic Development Corp.'s new Web site was launched at the end of January. NCAEDC's Executive Director Stephanie Shrader said the "soft launch" occurred Jan. 1 and the new Web site is user-friendly and has more tools available for existing and future business owners.
"The Economic Gateway Web site provides Otoe County with the tools necessary to collaborate and succeed long-term on the economic development front," Shrader said. "We are particularly proud of the design, which shows the current success with opportunities for future success."
NCAEDC partnered with the company Golden Shovel Agency and Economic Gateway, the Web system, to create the new Web site - www.nebraskacityareaedc.com.
"It is a county-wide site. We are promoting all of the communities in Otoe County," Shrader said. "The Web solution will move Otoe County and its surrounding area into the cutting-edge of economic development promotion."
Some of the Web site's key features include community profiles with demographic and workforce data, an incentives directory for new and expanding businesses, a sites and building locator provided by Location One Information Systems and the "Tools for Business" feature.
Another new attraction to the corporation's Web site is the "Site Selectors" tab, which Shrader said is a must-have in order for Nebraska City to remain a certified community with the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
Shrader said a site selector acts much like a real estate agent which allows people to see communities' demographics that will answer some questions that future business owners may have before moving or starting a business in the area.
"It's a tool that potential larger companies and people who want to start a business can use," she said.
