Through three rounds of the state’s Regional Economic Development competition, the Capital Region’s council has delivered $200 million for 307 projects. Its work has affected about 20,400 jobs.
“We’ve done precisely what Gov. Andrew Cuomo charged us to do,” said council co-chair Jim Barba, referring to its focus on jobs. He presented a condensed version of the local council’s 104-page progress report Tuesday on behalf of its 22 members.
The report noted a 32 percent increase in tourism since 2011, and that the majority of projects from prior rounds are on schedule.
