Economic developers tout Triad’s connectedness
Tuesday, September 10, 2013
The central economic development organizations for Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem have collaborated to produce a Triad “community profile” brochure that touts all three cities and the region to outside companies.
This is the third year the three organizations — the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance, the High Point Economic Development Corp. and Winston-Salem Business Inc. — have produced the brochure. This year’s brochure is notable, however, because it comes amid Gov. Pat McCrory’s overhaul to the N.C. Department of Commerce.
That overhaul will convert the department into a public-private partnership, alter the way the state handles economic development and business recruitment and will eventually remove funding from the state’s seven regional economic development commissions, including the Piedmont Triad Partnership.
